Here are the wet days

Although our lives are always busy, May was not very eventful, except for birthdays, Bella, Gary,Anna,Jo, Annette and June we had/have; Kelly, Maureen Barkla,Karen,me,Raven and Caitlyn. All were celebrated appropriately but for mine we are going to Adelaide (for 7 nights) and celebrate my birthday there. On a sad note, cousin Lyndall's mother, Margaret Ace, died last week at the age of 80,she had not been well for some time. We are having some crispy, fine days , here in Paradise. Chilly mornings 2 or 3 Centigrade to about 18.Next few days even rising to around 20 again but some rain expected. We do have the odd rainy days and the last one was a beauty. The fields are green again nd the brook had water in it. That is dried up again now so come on the rainy days. Off to Adelaide on Wednesday and sure we'll enjoy it because Adelaide is a pretty place. Some VERY wet pics.

Rick and Karen have a new horse, he is big! Full size and will be the runner up to Pixie.Did not realise that Pixie was so much smaller , until Sam arrived. She is only young but he is a full 16 yrs old. He seems to have settled in quite well and here are a series of snaps of him.

The birds have been quite prolific, probably because the neighbours have also started to feed them. we now get a lot of pink and grey galahs , still some twenty eights and just the odd smaller bird. It really i such fun to watch them.

BELLA B"DAY & MOTHERS DAY

Bella had atupperware party for her birthday. They had egg & spoon race, pass the parcel and then cooked burgers. They were given lovely aprons & chef's hats. It was certainly something different and the kids enjoyed it while the adults enjoyed seeing the kids enjoying themselves. Ofcourse it was the adults that did the buying but it was a great day. Jellybean & spoon race.

Today was Mothers Day and I was so spoiled. No breakfast in bed, up most of the night because Trev was sick again. I am worried as to what is wrong but he is so stubborn & won't go to Dr. Always wants to wait to see what tomorrow brings.We went to Riley's footbal, he does not start early now so had a nice time with great weather and Riley did very well , getting 4 goals 1 point.

We all travelled to and from Bali at different times .There were 19 of us, all at the same hotel yet doing our own thing but often getting together for a meal. We only had 5 days there but filled those days pretty well. View from room at Santika Hotel Cousins meeting for cocktails

Back from Bali and Vietnam.

Vietnam. We had a good time but one definitely needs to tour. Shopping is good and cheap but it's not always easy to find one's way. Net's Vietnam (Eyewitness travel ) book helped and so did maps and questions. One still needs to have addresses written down for taxi drivers. It is very much a land of contrasts, sheer poverty, hard working lower classes beautiful hotels, including ours ,the Duxton, good places to eat eg, Jaspers and good places to get food poisoning (Yes Trevor again , on the last day and in the plane!!!!!!!!!),despite all precautions. But he will eat oysters and prawns.(Ate a huge lot on the last night ) I have told him he is not allowed to have a last day in holidays any more. The very anti-American war feeling is still there, even in young people and very evident at War Museum and Cu Chi Tunnels, yet the dollar is much asked for. Mekong cruise was an insight and showed a lot of their culture. The Cao Dai Temple with its very diverse type of religion was a beautiful place to visit. The traffic is still..... the big guy rules and bugger the pedestrian.Some beautiful homes, some disgusting places where no one should have to live . We had a great time but Vietnam really needs to cater much more for the tourist. Gary goes into tunnel A josstick for the grandkids
