We can't forget the beginning of 2011

What a tragic chain of events Mother nature threw at us in the last couple o f months. With television being there every moment it becomes so graphic and one can't make oneself look away because it is so tragic. All we can do to help is donate, while some , braver and fitter than us , actually go there to help physically. They are to be commended. Cyclone Yahtsi in Queensland
Floods in Queensland & NSW And Victoria and WA. Wa had some horrific fires too with much loss of property. Next there was the earthquake which all but decimated central Christchurch in New Zealand. Many lives were lost.
The devastating earthquake and Tsunami with following radiation problems in Japan. Huge number of towns were just completely lost and sadly thousands died.It seems unbelievable that so much can be heaped upon one country. Our darling Mac. RIP.
Life in West Australia is thankfully more liveable. We've had many records, hottest number of days, nights and longest spell no rain. most of us are now wishing for Autumn to arrive.
The new Foodhall in Perth
The old Forum Cafe now about 40 yrs old. London Court, still an attraction.
The Mini Tornado rain bouncing off the caravan.

Now some tranquility and peace while house and cat sitting at Net & Gary's. They are in Tasmania, going on to Sydney to help Kristy with her house move. Although it has been hot, there is so much joy in the garden and the abundant wildlife. Caitlyn stayed with me last Saturday for a sleepover and that was nice.Would have asked the others but their weekends always seem to be so busy.

THE NEW YEAR

The start of a new year has already brought some excitement with Niece Jacqueline marrying her man, Frank van de Ven.(23rd of Jan.) The wedding was lovely and all the children were invited also.
Then on the 26th , Trev and I flew to Singapore for my Christmas present. It was Chinese New Year and we stayed at the Park, Clarke Quay there. It was a very tranquil and pretty area there and we visited the new Sands Marina and its casino ( I won $ 700) , the new Vivo and some of our favourites like Bugis st, Little India and a few of the centres in Orchard Road.
The flower girls,Ella & Livvy
Then there has been an addition to the Elfrink clan in Holland, Pien Hannah, to Hyung and Saskia.
Riley, Gwen, Gerry , Colin and Sarah had birthdays and in Holland there are Theo and Henk celebrating theirs.

A very special Present.

Last year Vicki & Travis presented us all with a photo book about our family holiday in Phuket & Bangkok. This year Karen did the work on our family (and extended family) holiday in Bali. It was once again beautifully done and a keepsake to treasure. Thank you Karen & Rick. The front of the book. The dinner at Alila Seminyak. The reason for the holiday, Rick turned 40.
Karen's thank you on the back of the book.

ONCE AGAIN _A YEAR HAS ENDED part 1

The New year has begun and 2010 is over. There have been some sad times but for us mostly good times. We're getting older with all that entails but still we had 3 holidays, 2 in Bali and one in Soth Australia. All wonderful. Our little house is now completed with the varandah enclosed and some new furniture. The children and grandchildren are all well, despite a few hiccoughs and the best medical results we had were that Scott managed to fight peritonitis and just ,in early December, the image from the scan of daughter Vicki's new baby. With little rain in winter here there could be a draught and yet there are devastating floods in Queensland and in NSW. Greenhouse effect?? Must be and we and the world's governments need to take some drastic action. We really need to keep this earth of ours in a good condition for our grandchildren and future generations. May 2011 be a good one where people CARE , in every way, Net and Gary had organised a bouncy castle and Face painter for our Family Christmas Eve, at their property.Everybody was there and we had such a wonderful time in such a beautiful setting.
