Another week

A week later and we are back at Vicki & Travis's. Mac loved it at Net's because he could come in and out as he wished and he does like to do that and sit in the sun occasionally.A break was good for us and them. We have had a busy week seeing the builders, selecting tiles and signing papers for shire approval so hope something will take off soon.Have also bought the new fridge/freezer and dishwasher already with storage at Rick & Scott's . A new store just opened near Scott's and we took advantage of the opening sales. My phone photos follow, the best I can do until I have my own computer and can install my camera to that. ( In the meantime thanks to my family for letting me use their computers.)It is quite a mixture and goes back as far as Jacquie's birtday party on August 30th Have labelled them and hope the labels stay with the right photo. If not, have fun figuring them out!!! Checking in to go to Phuket They've all had photos like this Our new car

HOUSE & BONNY SITTING

We're at Net & Gary's. house and cat sitting. The boy cat,Clyde, is in kennels but the girl, Bonny, has a huge set of pins in her rear leg where she broke it in several places, chasing birds with the consequence of a concrete bird bath falling on her. She is confined to a cage but is being absolutely wonderful. Net says she has mellowed so much, it is incredible. She is even starting to be a bit interested in our little Mac. Not bad for a little cat that was rescued from between walls( and made it on TV for that.)
It's very obvious why I like their house, it has lots of big rooms and cupboards galore. Trouble is the cleaning is also big.I have got all enthusiastic about cardmaking again after attending a class for charity so am doing a lot of that since Net has cutters and stamps and room to do it.Enjoying that too. We picked up our new car yesterday, I'll take a photo on my phone ,see if Vicki can download it for me. It is a lovely gold Hyundi Accent., not new but nice and hopefully better on the petrol. WE have kept the Mazda and traded in Trev's buggy.I'll go back to Vicki's tonight to mind Caitlyn and next week both Trev and I are doing schoolruns because our "boys" are in Kalgoorlie working at the Expo again. Nanny & GEoff ,see you again next year and have fun with Net & Gary.Congratulations to the two ,newly engaged couples, Christopher and Rachel who came to visit for the weekend from CI and Michael and Kasha, who got engaged the week before last. Much Happiness is wished to all of you. Funny how you boys got engaged almost at the same time when you were born only a little apart also.

SETTLED IN

Went to the funeral of Edie Leembruggen today, former Principal of Vicki's school and friend, colleague and some time boss of myself. A great lady with many lifetimes of living, early childhood in Malaysia, near batu caves, imprisoned in a Japanese concentration camp as a teenager, forged her own education and became a formidable Pricipal here. A brave Lady , much admired, who always stood up for her principles. Was glad we kept in touch.
We seem to be settling here at Vicki & Travis's place and hope to give them some alone time such as we'll house sit for Net & Gary next week while they go to KL and CI. Nanny & Geoff return to Christmas Island on the 22nd so we'll have a coffee morning tomorrow.Apart from that things are moving along, our house has been settled and we now wait for the next place to get moving. The photo was purloined from Karen again. It is Trev and myself at Fantasea in Phuket.

BACK FROM THAILAND,WE'VE SHIFTED AND NUMBER 1

Back from a wonderful 15 days in Thailand. The children had a wonderful time and basically they wer very good, especially all together. They looked after each other. The big girls and boys decided it was worth coming back to, especially the shopping.Bangkok is still old and dirty in some areas but improved and it now has the most magnificent shopping malls, Big C , Paragon, Central, etc. One even has a huge oceanarium in it. I did pick up a tummy bug but that's just unlucky. When we returned the village gave us a nice and well attended farewell evening and now we are living with Vicki, Travis and Caitlyn. We have started the planning and negotiations with the builder for our unit. It could take up to 6 months but with Rick's friend Andy, the Supervisor , we hope it will be shorter. Happy Birthday to Nanny,my Trevor,Bruce, Michael and Scott,Geoff and Johari in October. Going to Nanny's to celebrate this afternoon. Just cop the size of the fried icecream at the ORCHIDS restaurant in Patong(beachside) Happy hours was always 2 cocktails for the price of one at the Patong Merlin, fine by us!

IT"S HILARIOUS

Emails flyiong across cyber space, backward and forward, latenight phonecalls, SMS messages, that's the state of our travel. At the moment we are going toThailand but that could change any time. In the last week the decisions have ranged from Thailand to Malaysia to Bali and have sometimes changed twice in a day. As Trev said, I go to bed thinking I'm going to Thailand, I wake up and I'm going to Bali, For desert at lunchtime., I get Thailand served again.Poor old Vicki even changed her money from Baht to Rupea!!!! Just wish us all luck .

Happenings in August

Well, I have all these lovely pictures on my phone and camera and can't download any of them because I don't have my own computer anymore. I thought I could use another computer but ofcourse they don't have the type of phone or camera disk downloaded. What a shame. We have definitely sold and at the moment are living in the sitting room and kitchen with one double bed,a filing cabinet for a table and some food and , until tomaorrow, a fridge. We have attended lovely birthday events for Julie and for Joh's girlfriend (dinner at Hillareys Harbour) and a dress up night for Jacqueline at Fremantle prison. That was a great night and thank you so much Jacquie and Frank. We all were witches, warlocklocks and other creepy creatures.Mick & Viv went off the next day on their extensive North American tour. Our holiday, which is suposed to start on Saturday, is in an on again ,off again stage because of problems in Thailand. The government has not declared the area a danger so at the moment we are still going because the insurance does not cover cancellations. If Thai Airways cancelled the flight, we would be OK and could go somewhere else. So it is a wait and see situation. The kids seem to be fine with it. Today we took some stuff to Vicki's.I took orders for strawberries fom the village because there are 3 strawberry farms along the way from Vicki & Travis's place. Bought 11 kilos and they gave me a 3/4 punnet for free, which was nice so I shared them with Zoe and Riley. When we return from the ""IF"" holiday, some of our neighbours are staging a farewell at the club for us,which is very kind of them.We move the last things before Sept. 24th so the place can be painted and re- carpeted. We have to pay for all that but we knew that. On Thursday we help Net's dear friend Lynda cel;ebrate her Birthday, she's here from Queensland and needed a break. We wish Lynda hope and Happiness in the future. Sorry about the photos, will need to consult the experts.Wish us luck for our trip.
